Tesla's Cybertruck Incentives Appear to Be Panic Sales Disguised as Promotions | Carscoops

Military personnel, first responders, educators, and students can receive a $1,000 discount on a new Tesla.

Tesla is providing complimentary transfers for its Full Self-Driving system for the Cybertruck.

Several Tesla Cybertrucks are currently offered with discounts exceeding $3,000.

The electric pickup truck also comes with 0 percent APR financing options.

By September 30, no electric vehicle in the United States will be eligible for a federal tax credit. As this deadline nears, Tesla seems increasingly eager to reduce its inventory significantly.

The company has introduced various incentives across its lineup, focusing particularly on the underperforming Cybertruck. However, it remains uncertain whether these advantages will be sufficient to stimulate demand.

There are numerous Cybertrucks in Tesla’s current inventory, some qualifying for the federal EV tax credit and others that do not. Nevertheless, almost all are being sold with substantial price reductions, with discounts reaching up to $3,000. Eligible vehicles can obtain the tax credit irrespective of whether they are leased or purchased.

If discounts and credits alone do not entice consumers to drive a Cybertruck, there is an additional incentive available. All Cybertrucks leased from Tesla’s current inventory now include a standard upgrade to 20-inch Cyber Wheels equipped with all-terrain tires.

0 Percent Financing, Subject to Conditions

Moreover, the Cybertruck can be secured with 0 percent APR financing. However, this offer is limited to "well-qualified buyers with excellent credit" who order a new Cybertruck with Full Self-Driving and make a minimum down payment of 4 percent over terms of up to 60 months.

Tesla has also begun promoting various deals that apply across its product range, including the Cybertruck. For instance, all military personnel, first responders, teachers, and students can benefit from a $1,000 discount for being ‘American Heroes,’ and every new Tesla comes with a complimentary one-month trial of Full Self-Driving.

      Free FSD Transfers

Perhaps the most interesting offer currently available is the ability to transfer Full Self-Driving to a new vehicle at no extra cost. Typically, FSD is tied to the vehicle instead of the owners who purchased it. During promotional periods like this, Tesla frequently offers free transfers of FSD for limited times, but this seems to be the first instance where the Cybertruck is included. While this is a positive development, Tesla should consider making FSD transferable for all owners at all times.
