The core BMW brand saw a decline in car deliveries in 2025, while BMW M, Mini, and Rolls Royce all reported increased sales.

The group's sales rose in Q2, although the BMW brand delivered fewer vehicles.

Sales for BMW M grew by nearly 8%, Mini saw a 33% increase, and Rolls Royce experienced a rise of over 9%.

Additionally, BMW reported a 29% increase in demand for plug-in hybrids from January to June.

The BMW brand is on the verge of launching a new wave of Neue Klasse vehicles and SUVs, which are expected to outperform their current offerings. Considering the latest sales numbers, this transition seems overdue.

While BMW M, Mini, and Rolls Royce—three of the four brands under the BMW Group alongside the BMW brand—enjoyed solid sales growth in the second quarter, the core brand itself faced a downturn in deliveries.

Furthermore, BMW M is planning to unveil a flagship "Dream Car" for collectors.

BMW Group sales rose by 0.4% to 621,300 units between April and June, but BMW brand sales fell by 2.6% to 550,700 units. The overall positive group sales figure was supported by the success of the ancillary brands. BMW M sales grew by 7.8% to 55,400 units, Mini increased by 33.1% to 69,200 units, and Rolls Royce delivered 1,415 cars, reflecting a 9.4% increase compared to Q2 2024. However, the Motorrad motorcycle division saw an 8% decline in sales, totaling 61,309 units.

A positive aspect for the core BMW brand is the growth in its electrified vehicle sector. Sales of electric vehicles increased by 15.7% in the first half of the year (with a less notable 2.9% rise in Q2), while combined EV and PHEV deliveries grew by 18.5% in H1 (and 10.2% in Q2).

In comparison to competitors like Porsche and Mercedes, BMW is facing challenges in China, albeit less severe based on sales figures. Deliveries there dropped by 13.7% in Q2 to 166,700 units, which is concerning; however, Mercedes reported a 19% decline and Porsche faced an alarming 28% drop. On a brighter note, group sales in Europe increased by 10.1% to 255,900, while sales in the US edged up by 1.4% to 98,500.
