Authorities report that the driver of the BMW M5 accelerated to over 100 mph while fleeing but was easily located afterward.

California police utilized the vehicle’s vibrant color to track down the suspect who was on the run.

The chase involved speeds greater than 100 miles per hour on a busy freeway.

The BMW M5 will now remain in an impound lot for 30 days, accruing fees.

Movies often feature flashy, luxury cars in chase sequences, but there's a significant drawback: driving a distinctive and bright vehicle makes it simple to track down. The California Highway Patrol has just demonstrated this. They pursued an alleged speeder, lost them, and subsequently found them the next day, largely because the car did not blend in.

Indeed, the Modesto department called attention to the driver on Instagram, stating “It Kinda Stands Out,” specifically referring to the orange BMW M5. It’s not a muted burnt orange or a dark orange and black mix; it's unmistakably Clown Fish orange.

According to authorities, the driver of this eye-catching vehicle eluded capture while speeding over 100 mph, utilizing the right shoulder of SR-99. However, their victory was short-lived. The following day, officers were able to identify the car, obtain a warrant, and seize it. It is now in an impound lot, and the owner faces a significant bill.

This isn't merely a straightforward one-time fee for retrieving the car from impound. As reported by Modbee.com, drivers may have to pay between $39-$65 per day for their impounded vehicle. In a best-case scenario, this could lead to a total of $1,170 before any additional charges. At the high end, the cost could reach $1,950.

In a landscape filled with perilous police pursuits that can end tragically, it’s refreshing to see a different approach succeed so impressively. Certainly, this strategy won’t apply to every vehicle; for instance, a gray Honda Civic wouldn’t stand out at all. Yet, the investigative work that led to this outcome deserves recognition.
