Le tout nouveau Cherokee de Jeep vient de révéler son intérieur et bien plus encore | Carscoops

Spy images have uncovered the complete exterior design and interior configuration of Jeep’s upcoming generation SUV.

The 2026 Cherokee will begin production later this year and will include a hybrid option.

The front design features elements inspired by the forthcoming electric Recon 4xe.

Interior images show a prominent digital instrument panel and touch-sensitive controls.

Jeep is reinstating the Cherokee for 2026, and despite earlier speculations, it will indeed carry that nameplate. Until now, we've seen heavily camouflaged prototypes, a few teaser visuals, and a rear shot of an uncovered test vehicle, but a new collection of spy photos now showcases the SUV from every angle, including its interior.

Previously, the Cherokee sported a curvy design before it was taken off the market in 2023. However, for 2026, it returns to the more solid geometric shapes that contributed to the XJ Cherokee’s success 40 years ago. Jeep’s own images had already hinted that the front would draw inspiration from the upcoming Recon 4xe electric SUV, and these latest images confirm the Cherokee is indeed adopting a boxy appearance.

While the front design takes cues from the Recon, the profile is more aligned with the luxury-oriented Wagoneer S. The Cherokee features squared wheel arch openings on its flat sides, similar flush door handles, and a mildly sloping roofline that offers a sporty touch without sacrificing practicality as much as the more aggressive rear screen angle of the Wagoneer S.

A previously released image showing an undisguised Cherokee from the back displayed a black license plate panel between the two light units, but this prototype has an entirely white rear hatch. An exhaust silencer beneath the rear bumper indicates that the Cherokee will continue with combustion engines at launch, which is sensible given the low demand for the Wagoneer S.

The Cherokee utilizes the same Stellantis STLA Large unibody platform as the Dodge Charger, and Jeep has committed to offering it with a “new, efficient, and powerful hybrid propulsion option,” alongside traditional gasoline engines.

A Detailed Examination of the Interior

Our spy team also captured the Cherokee’s interior without disguise for the first time. At first glance, the dashboard resembles that of the Wagoneer S, though there are some distinct differences. The Cherokee features a flatter dash top, redesigned air vents, and a row of capacitive-touch buttons for climate controls, all situated just below what seems to be a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Like the electric version, it includes a separate digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.

Below the climate control buttons is an additional set of capacitive-touch buttons for driver assist and safety systems, along with two USB-C ports. The lower console is equipped with two sizable cupholders, a rotary gear selector, and a drive mode toggle, both inspired by the Wagoneer S.

The complete reveal is anticipated soon. Jeep is expected to officially announce the Cherokee's return within the next few months, if not sooner, providing final specifications and likely clarifying the SUV's intended role in the brand's future.
