The new aerodynamic kit is not merely for aesthetics; it is said to significantly improve the aerodynamics of the sporty hatchback as well.

HKS has unveiled a new aerodynamic kit featuring functional enhancements for the Toyota GR Yaris.

This track-oriented kit incorporates a carbon wing, splitter, and fins designed to boost performance.

A GR Yaris equipped with the HKS kit is already participating in Japan's Super Endurance Series.

Few hot hatches are as thrilling as the Toyota GR Yaris. With a robust turbocharged three-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive, it truly resembles a rally car for the streets. Since its launch five years ago, the aftermarket scene has been active in providing upgrades, with many enthusiasts focusing on increasing the engine's power, while HKS has concentrated on enhancing aerodynamics with its latest offering.

Referred to as the Type-S Gen2 kit, this upgrade not only gives the refreshed GR Yaris a more aggressive appearance but also improves its aerodynamic performance. These upgrades could be particularly beneficial for owners who prefer taking their cars to the track.

The modifications begin at the front end, where HKS has created a prominent new splitter primarily constructed from GFRP (glass fiber reinforced polymer), which features carbon fiber end plates for a more aggressive stance. This splitter is also claimed to provide increased downforce over the front axle.

Next, HKS has developed new side skirts, also made from GFRP, to enhance the sides of the Yaris. At the rear, there is a full carbon fiber wing extending from the roof, featuring swan neck-shaped uprights to optimize downforce. This new wing is complemented by aero spats on both sides of the rear bumper, complete with carbon fiber fins.

These enhancements are not just for show. HKS asserts that the components yield significant aerodynamic improvements, though they have not disclosed specific downforce measurements. Nonetheless, a GR Yaris outfitted with the complete setup is already racing in Japan’s 2025 Super Endurance Series ST-2 class, providing a solid real-world evaluation.

In Japan, the splitter is priced at 165,000 yen (approximately $1,148), while both the side skirts and rear wing are priced at 132,000 yen each (about $918). There has been no official announcement regarding the availability of these parts outside Japan, so GR Yaris enthusiasts elsewhere may need to wait or explore creative avenues for importing them.
