The unique GT is equipped with a complete paint protection film and boasts a flawless Ebony leather interior.

About 5 hours ago, Brad Anderson reported that Wayne Gretzky’s 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition is currently available for auction, featuring only 1,200 miles.

It showcases a Gulf livery, #99 roundels, and is in factory-original condition with no modifications.

This model is powered by a 5.4-liter V8 engine that produces 550 hp and is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission.

There are few sports icons as legendary as Wayne Gretzky, often regarded as the greatest hockey player in NHL history. Just in time for the Stanley Cup finals, a 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition previously owned by Gretzky is now up for auction. Notably, the car's orange and blue Gulf livery closely resembles the colors of the Edmonton Oilers, with whom he played for several seasons.

Additionally, it has been reported that someone recently made $343K by parking a Ford and then walking away.

Ford manufactured only 343 units of the GT Heritage Edition, and this particular vehicle is number 195. Although Gretzky is financially capable of driving the car without concern for depreciation, he appears to have used it very little, as evidenced by its mere 1,200 miles on the odometer. For fans of the Ford GT, this example might be nearly perfect.

In its factory condition and with a celebrity owner to its credit, the Bring a Trailer listing mentions that the entire vehicle is covered in paint protection film and is completely original, featuring no aftermarket components. This means it retains the original forged BBS wheels it was delivered with. Appropriately, it has white #99 roundels on the sides and hood, representing Gretzky’s jersey number during his distinguished NHL career.

Inside, the cabin is nearly flawless. The Ebony leather seats are in exceptional condition, and both the dashboard and steering wheel appear equally well-maintained. Essentially, it acts as a time capsule, albeit one associated with a notable former owner.

Like all first-generation GTs, this vehicle is driven by a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine that delivers 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a six-speed manual transmission that distributes power to the rear wheels, providing the raw, analog performance that distinguished mid-2000s GTs amidst modern supercars.

Whether the celebrity ownership will elevate the car’s value remains uncertain. In February, RM Sotheby’s auctioned a similar 2006 GT Heritage Edition with just 2,200 miles for $703,500. The bidding for Gretzky’s car is already approaching that amount. If you’re feeling fortunate—or simply want the bragging rights of outbidding someone for Gretzky’s former vehicle—you can place your bid here.
