You've Never Encountered A Suzuki Jimny This Furious | Carscoops
A customized Suzuki SJ413 Jimny featuring an impressive bodykit, skeletal doors, and a tuned engine that delivers 70 percent more power than the standard model is currently for sale.
The striking bodykit is finished in Lamborghini orange.
The engine has been upgraded with dual Weber 45 carburetors and a performance cam, increasing power from 63 hp to 110 hp.
While there have been some outlandish modified Suzuki Jimnys before, including one that combined two SUVs to create a unique, low-slung version of a Hummer H1, this particular SJ stands out with its aggressive appearance.
Looking as if it leapt straight from a 1996 edition of Max Power magazine, this Suzuki began its journey as a UK-market SJ413, the same model that marked the Jimny's arrival in the US as the Samurai. This model earned the nickname SJ-Fall-Over after Consumer Reports infamously flipped one during a cornering test.
However, anyone who purchased this in its stock form back in 1986 would hardly recognize it now. The vibrant orange Lamborghini paint was definitely not an option from the factory, nor was the body kit which lends the front end a fierce look, featuring a long headlight brow popular in the tuning world a couple of decades ago.
The tube-frame doors share a conceptual resemblance to those on the modern Ford Bronco, and like the Bronco, the SJ413 boasts genuine off-road capabilities thanks to its transfer box and the ability to switch between low and high ratios. However, we suspect this Suzuki has a more appealing exhaust note, even if it doesn't produce as much power.
A transition from the SJ410’s 1.0-liter four-cylinder engine to a 1.3-liter in the SJ413 raised power from 44 hp (45 PS) to 63 hp (64 PS) in the UK, but this particular model now generates an impressive 110 hp (112 PS) due to some classic tuning modifications. It includes a four-branch manifold, a hotter camshaft, flat-top pistons, and a pair of Weber 45 carburetors under the hood, along with a painted cam cover that, while not contributing to increased horsepower, certainly looks more stylish than a plain black one.
This Jimny has clearly been a passion project for someone, but its distinct style might not appeal to all, especially with an asking price of £24,500 ($33,300)—approximately the cost of a nearly new 2024 Jimny. You can view the classified listing here.
