The starting price for the Chinese version of the XT4 is just over $22,000, with the highest price reaching $26,300.

Chinese customers can choose between a 1.5-liter engine or a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine for the XT4.

Intense competition in the market compels GM to price the XT4 as competitively as possible.

Although production has ceased in the U.S., it is still feasible to purchase a new 2025 XT4 locally.

GM may have officially discontinued the Cadillac XT4 in the U.S. as of January, but the luxury compact crossover remains popular in China. The 2025 XT4 has recently debuted there, and it is significantly more affordable than the price American buyers would face. Just how much more affordable? The price for an XT4 in China is comparable to that of an entry-level small SUV.

In China, the XT4 is priced starting at just 159,900 yuan, approximately $22,200 based on current exchange rates. In contrast, the U.S. starts the XT4 at $40,795, revealing a nearly 100% markup. While the Chinese model features a smaller 1.5L engine and the American version has a standard larger 2.0L engine, the price disparity is substantial.

For context, GM's smallest SUV in the U.S., the 2025 Chevrolet Trax, starts at $20,500. The Nissan Kicks starts at $21,520, indicating that American consumers are not flooded with options at lower price points either.

For those in China desiring a bit more luxury in their XT4, two higher trims are on offer. The mid-tier version begins at 179,900 yuan ($25,000), while the top-tier model is priced at 189,900 yuan ($26,300). In comparison, the most expensive XT4 model in the U.S. is the Sport AWD, starting at $45,290.

In terms of features, the Chinese version is largely similar to the American version, though it can be equipped with larger 20-inch wheels. Inside, it features a 33-inch, 9K ultra-wide curved display that combines the digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen. The XT4 also comes with heated, ventilated, and massaging seats, and options include a heated steering wheel and an AKG audio system with active noise cancellation.

Two engine options are available in the Chinese market, unlike the single 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder provided in the U.S., which produced 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque.

The base powertrain is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with mild-hybrid 48-volt technology, generating 211 hp and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. The second engine option is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, also featuring the 48-volt system, yielding 237 hp and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. In both scenarios, the engines are matched with a standard 9-speed automatic transmission.
