Killa Conversions has replaced the Ranger's V6 with a supercharged V8 from a Mustang.

An upgraded 10-speed automatic transmission is also added to manage the extra power.

The modified Ranger Raptor is priced around AU$190,000, a significant amount for a mid-sized pickup.

Many would agree that Ford excelled with the Ranger Raptor, equipping it with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 that not only sounds fantastic but also delivers up to 405 hp, allowing it to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 6 seconds, easily competing with a hot hatch.

But why settle for good enough when there's the opportunity for something even more extreme? Enter Killa Conversions, an Australian tuner who opted to replace the V6 with an utterly thrilling V8. But not just any V8.

Killa Conversions has installed Ford's Coyote Gen3 5.0-liter V8 from a Mustang, complete with a Roush supercharger that boosts the power to an astonishing 750 hp and 670 lb-ft of torque. This is a significant power increase, making the original engine seem like a minor detail.

You might be wondering, “Why not choose a Ford F-150 Raptor R instead?” The F-150 Raptor R features a 720-hp, supercharged 5.2-liter V8 and appears to be the more logical option. However, there’s a catch: Ford does not offer the F-150 Raptor R in Australia. Therefore, for Australian enthusiasts, this may be the next best option, especially if you're willing to pay a premium for something a bit… different.

In addition to the engine swap, Killa Conversions has equipped the Ranger Raptor with a sturdier 10-speed automatic transmission to accommodate the enhanced power.

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the entire powertrain upgrade is that Killa Conversions claims all of the Ranger's standard features and safety systems function just as they did when the vehicle left the factory. Now, it boasts a supercharged V8 instead of a twin-turbocharged V6. There’s no information regarding the weight added by the larger engine and transmission, but drivers are unlikely to notice any differences while driving.

      The Price Tag

Now, let’s talk about the cost. In Australia, a new Ranger Raptor retails for just over AU$90,000 (approximately $57,600). Killa Conversions’ enhancements come at an additional AU$89,000 (around $57,000), resulting in a total price of approximately AU$190,000 (around $121,600).

That’s quite a sum, particularly for a mid-sized pickup. But realistically, it’s probably just as much fun to drive as any sports car in the same price range. And who wouldn’t want a truck with the spirit of a Mustang and the growl of a supercharged V8?
