One of these Mavericks is inspired by the legendary F-150 SVT Lightning.

With two fewer doors, this compact Ford pickup seems nearly flawless.

The second version draws from the more luxurious Eddie Bauer and King Ranch trims.

Though Ford’s Maverick is a dependable little truck, it doesn’t exactly ignite a passion in car enthusiasts. However, that might change if Ford were to broaden the lineup with additional variants. While we’re dreaming, incorporating some design elements from Abimelec Design’s recent renderings wouldn’t be a bad starting point.

The designer of this concept clearly believed the Maverick could benefit from more attitude and fewer doors. With that in mind, they set out to give the pickup an edgier look, taking inspiration from the Ford F-150 SVT Lightning. The outcome? A two-door, two-seater Maverick, featuring a shortened wheelbase and an eye-catching red finish.

A custom front bumper and extended side skirts provide the truck with a more aggressive appearance, while the lowered stance and redesigned bed suggest a focus on performance. With flared wheel arches and aftermarket wheels, this Maverick shifts from being merely a “lifestyle truck” to one that’s ready for the racetrack.

If Ford were to ever create something like this, it would be wise to pair it with a new high-performance powertrain producing over 300 horsepower. However, the likelihood of an SVT Lightning version of the Maverick going into production anytime soon is minimal. But who knows, right?

The second rendered model is also a two-door Maverick, this time taking cues from the premium F-150 trims like the Eddie Bauer and King Ranch. It features a striking retro two-tone paint scheme, chrome steel wheels, and rugged off-road tires, giving it a tougher yet polished appearance.

Additionally, the truck’s front bumper is enhanced with chrome accents, along with new wing mirror caps for added style. The truck bed has also been redesigned for practicality, now including side steps for easier access.

If daydreaming isn’t your thing and you’re looking for something ready to hit the road, the current Tremor model is the Maverick for you. It comes equipped with all essential off-road features, such as a locking rear differential and upgraded shocks and springs, ensuring you can hit the trails seamlessly.

So, if Ford were to produce one of these two-door Mavericks, would you be eager to place an order, or would you prefer to wait for something entirely different, such as a “Lightning” electric version?
