The project remains incomplete, but it has the potential to become one of the most desirable pickups on the road.

A builder from the UK has transformed a BMW 325i Touring into a distinctive single-cab pickup.

This undertaking includes an M3 body kit, a turbocharged engine, and a custom rear bed.

The unfinished pickup is listed at £6,995 ($9,300) but requires substantial work.

If you have an interest in pickup conversions, the BMW E30 3-Series with a tailored rear bed is likely to catch your eye. Currently available on eBay, this modified vehicle offers a unique take on the classic BMW, but it is not quite ready for the showroom and will need some care to complete.

To start, rest assured that no M3s were harmed in the process of making this vehicle. Instead, this conversion is based on a BMW 325i Touring, produced from 1987 to 1994.

The transformation involves a significant modification: the rear roof section has been removed, and the interior has been stripped, converting the wagon into a single-cab pickup. If you have ever fantasized about turning a perfectly good BMW wagon into something even more distinctive, this is the result.

To enhance its appeal, the builder incorporated E30 M3 components, including wider front fenders, a sturdier front bumper, and a chin spoiler. The M3 style is further emphasized with a subtle rear wing and a set of 17-inch BBS replica alloy wheels. It's a bit of a mixed bag, but it somehow fits together, combining elegance and aggression in a way that only the E30 can achieve.

The custom rear section appears wider than the original, featuring an M3-style rear bumper, authentic taillights, and dual exhaust pipes. The rear glass is taken from an old VW Caddy, and the cargo area is lined with chequer plate for durability and style. Overall, the E30 ute possesses considerable visual charm, although it’s in need of a fresh paint job.

Inside, the black leather upholstery shows some wear, but the seller states that the dashboard is in excellent shape. While it may not feel like a luxury cabin, with some effort, it could be restored to its former condition.

Under the hood, you'll find the typical 2.5-liter six-cylinder engine from the 325i, but with added performance: a Garrett turbocharger and a custom stainless steel exhaust. Although performance specifications aren't provided, the turbo should deliver a noticeable boost over the original 168 hp (170 PS).

The power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, and while the look of the E30 M3 suggests otherwise, swapping in a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine could make this pickup even more of a sleeper. Nevertheless, it already has plenty of character.

Located in Hassocks, UK, this E30 pickup conversion is available for a reasonable £6,995 (around $9,300), and it comes with a collection of spare parts. The seller indicates that a serious injury is necessitating the sale, so here’s to hoping for a swift recovery so they can return to fun projects like this one.
