If you missed the opportunity to place an order, Tesla has several Launch Series models ready for their first owners.

The Model Y Launch Edition is priced at $52,490, plus a $7,500 federal EV tax credit.

All Launch Series vehicles come with the Acceleration Boost feature, enabling a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds.

In late January, Tesla introduced the refreshed Model Y in the U.S., starting with the limited Launch Series. This model was available for only a short period before the standard Long Range AWD version was released.

If you weren't able to purchase one initially, there's still a chance, as there are currently at least 18 listed in Tesla's U.S. inventory at the time of this writing. We’ve been monitoring the situation, and it appears Tesla is gradually adding more stock every few days. It’s clear they haven't sold all of the special edition Launch Series cars, which is somewhat expected given their recent sales decline.

A closer look at Tesla-Info’s current listings reveals that there are 117 units of the 2026 Model Y in inventory, ready for immediate delivery without the wait typically associated with custom orders. Out of these, 18 are Launch Series editions, all offered at the original price of $59,990. This drops to $52,490 if you qualify for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit.

Customers can choose from Quicksilver with 20-inch Helix wheels or Pearl White with the standard 19-inch Crossflow wheels. While the Launch Series includes all major options, Tesla provided some flexibility for selecting colors, wheels, and other features. However, every model in this set comes standard with the Acceleration Boost and Full-Self Driving capability.

These vehicles are located in various states, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Washington, among others.

All Model Y Launch Series vehicles feature dual-motor all-wheel drive and are estimated to have a range of 327 miles (526 kilometers) with 19-inch wheels, or 303 miles (488 kilometers) with the larger 20-inch wheels. With the Acceleration Boost active, they can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in just 4.1 seconds and achieve a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h).

Is the new Juniper Model Y better than its predecessor? Early reviews from both owners and automotive journalists suggest it is. The new Model Y is reported to be quieter, smoother to drive, and overall more refined. Many agree, regardless of Tesla's brand loyalty, that the refreshed model represents significant improvement.

Whether the premium for the Launch Edition is justified depends primarily on how much you value the included standard features. It essentially saves you several thousand dollars compared to customizing a standard Long Range AWD model, which isn't the case for all other available inventory units. If that’s not a priority, the standard LR offers better value, even without the currently unavailable Acceleration boost.
