Elvis Presley’s unique Guitar Car, a custom 1970 Cadillac Eldorado crafted by Hollywood icon Jay Ohrberg, is currently for sale on eBay.

Recently listed in France, this Cadillac stretches an impressive 41 feet.

Ohrberg is known for creating vehicles like Knight Rider's KITT and the DeLorean from Back to the Future.

If you ever needed evidence of the intriguing intersection between car culture and pop culture, this is it. Believe it or not, this distinctive creation, referred to simply as the Guitar Car, is a 1970 Cadillac Eldorado made specifically for Elvis Presley.

During the height of his fame, the singer drove the bright pink Cadillac to a performance in Las Vegas, after which the car fell out of the public eye. Now, decades later, it has reemerged, listed for sale on eBay, and, for reasons that remain unclear, it is located in France.

While Elvis is the name most closely linked to the Guitar Car, it was actually designed by Jay Ohrberg. Ohrberg is the renowned car builder behind many of Hollywood's most iconic vehicles, including the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard, KITT from Knight Rider 2000, various iterations of the Batmobile, the DeLorean DMC-12 from Back to the Future, and even the whimsically outlandish Panthermobile from The Pink Panther Show.

To build this unique Cadillac, he took a 1970 Eldorado, cut it in half, created a custom extended chassis resembling a guitar’s fretboard, and used it to connect the front and rear. He then fashioned a special rear section to emulate the shape of a guitar, followed by a vibrant pink paint job.

There’s no information on how the car ended up in France or why the original fretboard is absent, but the listing states that it currently does not run. It was initially equipped with an 8.2-liter V8 engine, and it likely needs some servicing to get it operational again. Being 41 feet or 12.5 meters long, it would require partial disassembly to fit into a standard 40-foot shipping container if the future buyer is outside mainland Europe.

The seller is asking for €10,000 in the eBay listing, which translates to about $11,300. Given that there is only one of these cars in existence, determining a definitive value is challenging.

Whether this price is a steal or a potential financial burden depends entirely on how much someone desires to own this peculiar piece of Elvis history. With any luck, it will be rescued and restored to its former, slightly absurd glory.
