Typically, it’s the skaters and BMX enthusiasts who transform old automotive structures for their riding needs. However, in this instance, the roles seem to have changed, as a massive concrete bowl (presumably located in China) has been taken over to create what might be the most stomach-churning form of motorsport we’ve ever encountered… whatever it may be.

To be honest, I’m not sure what this activity is called, and Google isn’t providing any clarity. What I do know is that multiple videos have surfaced on social media over the weekend, showcasing a variety of cars tackling this enigmatic soap bowl. From a BMW 7 Series to the Ford Raptor displayed below, diverse drivers are diving right in.

Adding to the peculiarity, we’re not quite sure what purpose these enormous concrete bowls were originally designed for, but a group of automotive enthusiasts has transformed at least one of them into what resembles an endless Karussell, filled with soapy water for, well, amusing antics.

Instances of this playful behavior are rare. Based on the very limited examples, the apparent competition (if it can even be classified as such) seems to favor trucks and SUVs. Still, we say this without really understanding how the entire setup operates. The video above is admittedly sped up, but it’s the best one available to share.

It might simply be a display, yet the overly competitive voices in our minds are bubbling with questions. Are these cars meant to find their way out? Or maybe they should aim to spend as much time as possible performing donuts in the higher paint sections to gain points? Are there judges involved? Are points awarded—and if so, what’s the method for earning them? If you know the answers to any of these, please inform us in the comments.

Most importantly, we wonder what occurs when (or if) one of these participants achieves escape velocity. Shooting out of that soapy bowl at any notable speed would surely be a spectacle—and one that (so far, at least) no one seems to have recorded on video.
