Khyzyl Saleem's interpretation of the BMW E24 boasts an extravagant body kit, motorsport influences, and a V12 engine.

Drawing inspiration from the TWR Supercat, it merges racing elements with striking design.

Although it may not be produced, the project showcases the possibilities for future restomods.

The restomod trend is currently flourishing, revitalizing classic and youngtimers with added power, enhanced handling, and modern aesthetics to cater to contemporary preferences. It seems that nearly every week introduces a new twist on a classic favorite, with the most recent creation from independent designer Khyzyl Saleem.

Renowned for his bold rendering approach and a series of imaginative transformations, Saleem has envisioned a heavily customized version of the E24 BMW 6-Series, incorporating motorsport references.

Inspiring his project is the TWR Supercat, a modified Jaguar XJS that notably competed against the BMW 635CSi in Group A racing during the 1980s. However, unlike the rare TWR model, Saleem's BMW vision is likely to remain digital for now.

Consistent with Saleem's previous designs, the E24 undergoes a comprehensive exterior transformation. While the classic shape remains recognizable, the overall impression is significantly more aggressive, thanks to a custom body kit. The shark-nose front has been reworked with a deeper bumper, LED headlights, and a bulging hood adorned with vents, giving it a more confrontational appearance.

The side profile features extensively flared fenders, and the rear end adds to the drama with an adjustable wing, tinted taillights, and a sizable diffuser that could serve as a snowplow. The vehicle is equipped with HRE alloy wheels, a fitting nod to the brand used on the TWR Supercat. The purposeful stance implies that this BMW is much better suited for a race track than a casual Sunday gathering.

The E24 BMW 6-Series was produced from 1976 to 1989, exclusively with six-cylinder engines, even in the high-performance M6 version. However, for his digital creation, Saleem sought a more prestigious option, imagining the car with a V12 engine. While he didn't provide specifics, the M70 engine from the 750i and 850i seems like a natural fit, assuming it would fit in the engine bay without transforming it into an expensive puzzle.

The car's extremely low ride height suggests a thoroughly modernized suspension setup. Although Saleem didn't release any interior designs, tinted windows hint at racing bucket seats and a full roll cage, with the rear bench removed to reduce weight. Not that it would have been a comfortable space for long trips anyway.

As previously noted, the BMW 635-KS remains a personal project, with little prospect of becoming a reality. Nevertheless, the concept illustrates the significant potential of the vintage 6-Series when crafted by creative minds. Even if this particular vision never comes to fruition, it's easy to envision some wealthy enthusiasts considering something similarly ambitious.

Khyzyl Saleem has also unveiled a rendering of the BMW 635-KS in black.
