A driver of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS lost control and crashed directly into a tree.
The incident did not happen suddenly but rather unfolded slowly through a series of errors.
The entire event was filmed in real time, capturing even the chaotic aftermath.
Modern performance cars are more powerful than ever, and most are also more refined and manageable. However, this did not prevent one driver from completely failing to handle the power of a late-model Porsche 911 GT3 RS appropriately. After what seems to be several attempts to show off with a poorly executed burnout, the driver strikes a curb, a tree, and seemingly never applies the brakes.
The event took place in Florida involving a grey 911 GT3 RS with red wheels. The driver appears to perform a burnout with cameras present, which is not uncommon. Who wouldn’t want to display their driving abilities in a high-performance sports car costing over $240,000? At the same time, nobody desires the outcome shown in this brief video.
The driver accelerates down the road and approaches an S curve. Initially, it looks like everything is going fine. However, it quickly becomes evident that the driver is going too fast. They make the first turn but then overcorrect, causing the rear of the 911 to swing out. The driver attempts to regain control as the back slides left, but as it shifts back to the right, the car hits the curb, even going over it and kicking up dirt.
For a moment, the driver seems to stop steering but continues to apply throttle. Strangely, they don't seem to consider hitting the brakes either. The outcome is a six-figure vehicle crashing into a tree head-on, with the tire making contact first. Remarkably, the car still appears quite intact despite the impact. The airbags deployed, the wheel is pushed back, and the bumper and fender clearly require repair.
Surprisingly, the hood looks mostly unharmed. In fact, much of the car seems as if it could continue down the road without any repairs. However, one does wonder about the condition of the frame beneath the exterior. Hopefully, the driver is unharmed. It appears that the airbags deployed, indicating that some safety measures worked to minimize potential injuries. There's no telling how this person's ego has fared after the incident.
