A Movie-Star Mustang Requires Your Attention | Carscoops
A Ford Mustang from the 2017 film Transformers: The Last Knight is now available for sale.
This modified vehicle represented the Barricade police car from the Decepticons.
It includes a custom body kit, police livery, and comes with special documents.
In Hollywood, heroes typically come out on top, but let’s be honest, the villains can often be more captivating. Barricade, one of the standout Decepticons in the Transformers series, perfectly exemplifies this. The latest version of this "bad cop" character is modeled on a 2016 Ford Mustang GT, and a fully functional, low-mileage version is currently on the market.
This specific Mustang appeared in Transformers: The Last Knight, the 2017 movie directed by Michael Bay. Although the film is the lowest-rated in the series and viewed as a financial failure (despite earning $605.4 million globally), the allure of this highly modified pre-facelift sixth-generation Mustang now offered by Curated is undeniable.
To enhance its combat effectiveness against the Autobots, Barricade’s Mustang underwent significant modifications. The vehicle is equipped with a distinctive body kit, a front push bar, strobe lights, and additional LEDs. The alterations on the bumpers, wiring, and custom headlights give the car an appearance of being ready to transform at any moment. Other aesthetic upgrades include a vented hood, wide fender flares, and a prominent rear wing.
Thanks to these modifications, Barricade presents a more aggressive look compared to its predecessor, which was based on a 2007 Mustang Saleen S281. The police livery boasts a Deep Impact Blue finish with white graphics, featuring “Keep Calm and Hail Megatron” text on the rear fenders and the iconic “To Punish and Enslave” insignia.
Rest assured, Barricade possesses ample power to match its fierce appearance. Under the hood is a standard 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 435 hp (324 kW) paired with a six-speed manual transmission. With only 800 miles (1,287 km) recorded, it’s evident this Mustang hasn’t been driven much outside of the film set.
Alongside the car, the sale includes a collection of Transformers memorabilia and official documents, with some signed by Michael Bay himself.
While Curated has not provided an official price estimate, one document indicates a purchase price of $131,970. For context, in 2021, this Barricade was part of a $2 million four-car package from Michael Bay’s private collection.
