A collection of five custom cars from West Coast Customs is set to be auctioned at Mecum soon, including a VW Passat inspired by Star Wars and Darth Vader.

Among the standout vehicles is a Polaris Slingshot, designed based on the Star Trek: Discovery series.

The Passat, influenced by Darth Vader, features Asanti wheels and a distinctive circular sunroof.

If you have ever desired a car created by the same team known for placing fish tanks and Xboxes in old Civics, now is your opportunity. Ryan Friedlinghaus, the founder of West Coast Customs, a prominent custom car shop in America, is selling several vehicles from his personal collection at Mecum Auctions.

Friedlinghaus is letting go of a Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Camry, Dodge Charger, VW Passat, and a Polaris Slingshot.

West Coast Customs gained fame in the early 2000s through MTV’s Pimp My Ride, with Friedlinghaus as a key figure on the show. The shop earned a reputation for its unique and imaginative car modifications. Proceeds from the auction will support the West Coast Customers Academy, a non-profit that teaches young individuals about the custom auto industry.

One of the more unique vehicles being auctioned is a 2018 Polaris Slingshot, created for Star Trek: Discovery. This three-wheeled vehicle features a prominently designed hood inspired by the U.S.S. Discovery. While it may not be the most practical choice for everyday driving, it certainly serves as an eye-catching exhibit.

The 1997 Toyota 4Runner up for auction is also notable. Created by the West Coast Customs Academy's 2024 class, it showcases a unique flame and pin-striped blue paint job, air suspension, and 18-inch wheels.

Additionally, a customized 2022 Toyota Camry is on the auction block. Drawing inspiration from NASCAR, it includes a bolt-on aero kit and adjustable coilovers, with no modifications to the 3.5-liter V6 engine. The 2006 Dodge Charger available is relatively understated for WCC, influenced by the famous General Lee Charger from The Dukes of Hazzard. This four-door sedan has been converted into a two-door, with its wheelbase shortened by 8 inches, and features the classic bright orange paint of the film vehicle.

Completing the lineup is a 2012 Volkswagen Passat themed around Star Wars and Darth Vader. It sits on Asanti wheels and has a custom front grille, with a standout feature being the circular glass sunroof that adds a futuristic touch to the otherwise conventional sedan.

All five vehicles will be auctioned at Mecum, where they are expected to appeal to enthusiasts of custom cars and pop culture alike.
