Enormous Tree Falls on Ford SUV, Crushing It Like a Soda Can, But the Driver Survives | Carscoops

      A woman driving a Ford Escape received a stark reminder of nature's might when a large tree fell on her SUV. This incident occurred in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and was captured on video.

      The driver managed to survive and was the only person in the vehicle at the time.

      Driving always has an element of risk. Typically, the hazards stem from other drivers, your own quick decisions, or unpredictable road conditions. Sometimes, an errant animal may make an appearance. However, a woman in Pennsylvania recently encountered a far more unusual danger: her parked car was utterly wrecked without any other vehicle being involved.

      While on her way to work, a huge tree came crashing down from the forest and struck her SUV. A security camera at a nearby gas station recorded the entire event.

      The gas station is located at the intersection of Lenape Rd and Street Rd (yes, that's its actual name). At about 7:47 a.m. on Monday, the woman in the Ford Escape came to a stop behind other vehicles. Just moments later, a massive tree from the woods on her right toppled onto the road, breaking apart as it crushed her SUV like a soda can.

      Fortunately, the driver, the only occupant at that moment, was unharmed and exited the vehicle shortly after the event. The aftermath is astonishing; the roof is entirely crushed, showcasing the severity of the impact. Generally, car roofs can support their own weight and more, but the force from the tree was simply too great.

      While the exact reason for the tree's fall is unclear, weather reports from Chester County had warned residents about severe weather conditions. In the days leading up to the April 7 incident, the area experienced wind gusts reaching 20 mph, along with cold temperatures and significant rainfall.

      Local news source WMUR mentioned that at least one witness claimed to have heard cracking sounds before the tree fell. We can all be thankful for the woman in the Escape. While she didn't literally "escape" the incident (and neither the SUV nor its driver were at fault), she emerged uninjured, which is what truly matters, as the situation could have been much more serious.
