This 455 HP Volvo Wagon Experienced Minimal Depreciation After 2 Years and 20K Miles | Carscoops
Finding an estate car as powerful as this Volvo is challenging, especially considering that it does not depreciate as rapidly as some competitors.
The Volvo V60 Recharge T8 Polestar Engineered boasts 455 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque, enhanced by improved handling from Ohlins dampers and upgraded brakes. A pristine 2023 model with approximately 19,300 miles recently sold for $62,500.
If you're interested in driving a luxurious and stylish performance wagon but want to avoid the usual options like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, or Audi, then the Volvo V60 Recharge T8 Polestar Engineered may be the ideal choice. It checks all the boxes of its competitors while surprisingly retaining its value better than expected, sidestepping the significant depreciation often associated with German brands.
For instance, this 2023 V60 Recharge was recently sold on Cars & Bids for $62,500. Despite its flawless appearance and just 19,300 miles on the odometer (around 31,000 km), we anticipated it would lose more of its original $71,845 MSRP, but that wasn't the case.
A Unique and Distinctive Alternative to AMG and M
The V60 Recharge compares well to the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Estate but offers an element of unique charm that is often missing in the usual choices. The Polestar Engineered version enhances performance with various upgrades, such as oversized brakes with gold-painted calipers and adjustable Ohlins dampers designed more for motorsport than for shopping mall parking.
This stylish wagon also delivers impressive power. It features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, together producing 455 hp and 523 lb-ft (710 Nm) of torque. Additionally, it includes an 18.8 kWh battery pack that enables a limited range of electric-only driving. While it may not rival a Tesla, it can still help you save on fuel costs.
The Interior: Simple Yet Luxurious
The interior of the V60 Recharge embodies classic Volvo design, characterized by a minimalist aesthetic complemented with high-quality materials and a wealth of technology. It includes a digital instrument cluster, a sizable infotainment display, gold seat belts, and a premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system. The crystal gear selector adds a touch of elegance, while heated seats in both the front and rear enhance the premium feel.
Though this specific V60 Recharge T8 Polestar has maintained its value remarkably well, it's possible to find a higher-mileage unit for less. Shortly after the sale of this model for $62,500, another example changed hands for $45,500. However, that model was a 2020 version with 49,900 miles (roughly 80,300 km) on it, so it clearly would not command the same price as the 2023 vehicle.
