The mid-sized electric crossover, built on a new dedicated EV platform, is set to enter production next year.

Eight hours ago, Honda unveiled a new 0 SUV prototype in Japan, ahead of its anticipated launch next year.

This prototype distinguishes itself from the concept with traditional side mirrors and updated lighting.

Production is expected to start in Ohio next year, with an electric sedan to follow.

Honda first showcased the 0 SUV concept at CES, and as it nears production, a camouflaged prototype appeared at a Red Bull event in Japan. While the design is recognizable, there are several significant styling updates.

At the front, the production model features new headlights with recognizable pixel-like elements. It also includes door-mounted mirrors and glossy black cladding with turn signals positioned on the front fenders.

In other changes, there are larger flush-mounted door handles and a redesigned rear, which now has reverse lights and a third brake light.

The 0 SUV will utilize a new dedicated EV platform and, according to Honda, offers “a spacious cabin with excellent visibility and versatility.” Advanced driver assistance technologies and a digital user interface powered by the new ASIMO OS are also anticipated.

Honda has not disclosed many details but has stated that the 0 Series will incorporate a steer-by-wire system for “superior handling.” Production is scheduled to begin in Ohio next year, and the crossover will eventually be available in global markets, including Japan and Europe.

Following the 0 SUV, the 0 Saloon is expected to launch in North America in late 2026. While it shares many features with the crossover, it has a wedge-shaped design intended to differentiate it from other EVs in the market.
