2026 GMC Sierra EV Priced $28,000 Lower Than Earlier, Introduces AT4 Off-Road Trim
The GMC Sierra EV lineup is growing for the third consecutive model year. For 2026, the electric pickup will increase from one trim to three. The addition of an AT4 will enhance the Sierra EV’s off-road capabilities, while the new Elevation model will reduce the Sierra EV’s base price by almost $28,000.
As dramatic as it may sound, this change is simply part of GM’s recent strategy for electric vehicle launches. Similar to the Hummer EV, the electrified Sierra was introduced for 2024 with only one trim: the Denali Edition 1. This version included the Max Range battery and nearly all features that GMC offers, resulting in a six-figure price tag with little room for negotiation. Relief came in 2025 when the Denali Extended Range was introduced, lowering the base price by $10,000, but it still represented a $90,000 truck. For 2026, the price is finally coming down significantly.
The Elevation will serve as the entry-level Sierra EV, starting at $64,495, including destination fees, which is only about $5,000 more than a comparable Sierra 1500 (whether gas or diesel). GMC has not yet released power, torque, or range specifications for the Standard Range model, but the Elevation Extended Range offers 645 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque—a bit more than what is provided by the optional 5.3-liter V8 or 3.0-liter diesel options in the Sierra 1500.
The Elevation will feature many amenities found in the higher-end Sierra EV AT4 and Denali models, such as the 16.8-inch infotainment screen and MultiPro Tailgate. It can also be equipped with some features that are standard on the Denali, like Super Cruise and a 7.2-kilowatt “Energy Transfer Pro” power station. It will be available with both Standard and Extended Range batteries, with the latter offering an estimated 390 miles on a single charge and a towing capacity of up to 12,500 pounds. It also boasts a Denali-equivalent payload capacity of 2,250 pounds.
New for 2026 is the AT4, which will reflect the same package available on the Sierra 1500. It starts at $81,395 with the Extended Range powertrain (now adjusted to 625 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque). This trim includes the amenities found in a well-equipped Elevation along with several AT4-specific enhancements. The AT4 features an additional two inches of ground clearance, standard 4-wheel steering with CrabWalk, and a unique ‘Forest Storm’ interior.
The AT4 will also include Super Cruise as standard and can be fitted with a 10.2-kilowatt version of GMC’s power station. The towing capacity for the AT4 is a commendable 12,300 pounds, and it can be outfitted with the Max Range battery, providing up to 460 miles of range on a single charge.
Anticipate the 2026 GMC Sierra EV to start appearing in dealerships this upcoming summer. Below is the complete pricing breakdown by trim and battery option:

- Elevation (Standard Range) $64,495

- AT4 (Extended Range) $81,395
- AT4 (Max Range) $91,695
