Yet, the debut of the Jeep Compass in North America may be postponed.
Stellantis has released additional teasers for the new-generation Jeep Compass, indicating its global unveiling will take place in Europe this spring.
Production of the redesigned Compass in Europe will start later this year at the Melfi plant in Italy, a detail confirmed to Carscoops by Stellantis spokesperson Lou Ann Gosselin last month. In contrast, the manufacturing at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Canada has been paused as Stellantis reassesses its product strategy for the North American market.
More Changes Ahead for Jeep
Besides the initial teaser showcasing the Compass’ profile, Jeep has disclosed further design features. The SUV will maintain its signature seven-slot grille, along with more rectangular headlights—an homage to the Jeep Recon, albeit with slightly slimmer versions here. The refreshed taillights incorporate sharp LED graphics that align with the rear shoulder contours.
The new Compass will utilize Stellantis’ STLA Medium architecture, shared with several other models such as the Peugeot 3008/5008, Opel Grandland, DS 7, and the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross. It will be available with various powertrain options, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric variants, with all-wheel drive offered on select trims.
Stellantis assures that the new Compass will deliver “affordable Jeep capability, best-in-class performance, and cutting-edge technology.” Like other SUVs within the Stellantis lineup, it will feature the latest connectivity and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) from the company’s offerings.
However, in contrast to some of its more conventional competitors, the Compass is expected to highlight its adventurous heritage, showcasing bolder interior accents reminiscent of the smaller Jeep Avenger.
Launch Timeline Still Uncertain
While the European launch is scheduled for the latter half of 2025, the timing of the Compass' arrival in North America is still uncertain. There are speculations that Stellantis might reevaluate the introduction of the electric variant in the United States and Canada, potentially delaying the release by up to a year.
As the spring premiere approaches, more information regarding the new Jeep Compass is likely to emerge. In the meantime, North America may have to wait a little longer.
