This 6x4 Suzuki Jimny is the perfect off-road vehicle and is now up for sale | Carscoops
The sole drawback is the naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine producing 103 hp, though this can be enhanced with an available turbo kit.
A one-of-a-kind 6×4 truck modification of the Suzuki Jimny is now on the market in the UK.
The vehicle's body has been extended to fit an additional set of wheels and a compact bed.
The truck still features the original 1.5-liter engine, which can be upgraded with a turbo kit.
Occasionally, a project appears that is so unconventional you can't help but question: Who thought this was a good idea? In this instance, a Suzuki Jimny owner in the UK had the innovative—if somewhat eccentric—idea to convert the already distinctive off-road Jimny into a six-wheeled truck. Why not? The outcome is a unique 6×4 model that is currently for sale. And no, this isn’t a mistake; this creation is indeed real.
The foundation for this project is a 2019 right-hand-drive Suzuki Jimny, imported directly from Japan. The inspiration arose after the owner saw an online rendering of a six-wheeled Jimny. As we’re well aware, the internet can be a perilous source of ideas. That’s where Mocho Fabrication, a small workshop located in Broadway, England, stepped in to tackle the monumental task of bringing this concept to life.
The builders mounted a third axle onto the back of the Jimny, utilizing genuine Suzuki components and equipping it with all-terrain tires. Naturally, the body had to be lengthened to accommodate the added axle, along with the addition of a pair of fenders designed to correspond with the original aesthetic.
A (Small) Bed and a Classier Interior
The elongated rear section now features a compact bed with a tailor-made tailgate, while the bumper and taillights were sourced from the original vehicle. To top it off, the exterior is finished in Audi’s Nardo Grey, which complements the black trim and matching wheels for a sleek, unified appearance.
Inside, the Jimny has undergone a minor upgrade, although it isn't a luxury transformation. The seats and door panels are now wrapped in black and light grey quilted leather, representing a noticeable improvement over the standard upholstery. The Kenwood audio system has replaced the stock infotainment, although it might still be a stretch to categorize it as “high-end.” Remember, this is a six-wheeled Suzuki, not a Rolls-Royce.
According to the eBay listing, the vehicle has 6,882 miles (11,075 km) recorded, with photos indicating it is in pristine condition.
The downside? Beneath the hood lies the original naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine, producing a modest 103 hp (77 kW / 105 PS) and 134 Nm (99 lb-ft) of torque. However, the owner has plans, as he offers a turbo kit upgrade that includes a Garrett turbocharger, manifolds, injectors, and an intercooler. This upgrade would increase the engine’s output to a significantly more respectable 170 hp (125 kW / 172 PS) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque.
Currently, a four-speed automatic transmission delivers power to four of the six wheels through the regular 4WD system. But for those who want to fully commit, a complete 6×6 conversion is certainly an option.
A Six-Wheeled Truck Available for Purchase
According to social media posts discovered on Reddit, the build was finished a year ago, but it won’t be officially registered until 2025. The Jimny 6×4 was initially set to be auctioned on March 1 at the Ascot Racecourse in the UK, with an anticipated price range of £40,000-50,000 ($50,500-63,100).
Presently, the modified SUV is still listed on eBay for £45,000 ($56,700). In comparison, this unique Jimny is between 10 and 20 times cheaper than the Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6, which ignited the six-wheel trend more than a decade ago.
