Mercedes-Benz Vision V Showcases 311-Mile Electric Luxury Van Set for 2026 | Carscoops
The overall design of the Vision V will serve as a preview for Mercedes' upcoming Vito and V-Class models.
This new vehicle will be built on the Van Electric Architecture platform.
The production version will incorporate an 800-volt electrical system.
Top-tier models are expected to achieve a range exceeding 311 miles (500 km).
Mercedes-Benz has announced the name of the concept that previews the next-generation Vito and V-Class vans, called the Vision V. This model was first hinted at in December and is anticipated to be revealed this year, prior to the launch of the new series of electric vans set for 2026.
Additionally, a new teaser was released, though it provides limited information. It features a large Mercedes-Benz logo and a Vision V badge, likely located on the rear of the vehicle. There are red LEDs on top, likely part of the taillights for the concept.
According to the German manufacturer, “the Vision V show car embodies Mercedes-Benz Vans’ vision for flawlessly merging ample space with unparalleled exclusivity.” The company states it will combine “traditionally crafted materials” with “ultra-modern, tech-forward design elements that are both stylish and surprising.”
The Vision V is built on the new scalable Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA), allowing the brand to develop entry-level family-oriented models, VIP shuttles, and “roomy and luxurious limousines.”
Based on a teaser from the previous year that highlighted the outline of the Vision V, it is evident that the vehicle will maintain a familiar van shape. This is not unexpected, as fundamentally altering a van's shape would transform it into a different type of vehicle.
All upcoming electric vans inspired by this concept will utilize an 800-volt electrical architecture and will be available in both single and dual-motor configurations. Mercedes-Benz has assured that flagship models will boast a range of over 311 miles (500 km) on a single charge, initially equipped with Level 2 autonomous driving systems, with Level 3 and Level 4 versions set to be released later.
