20-Year-Old Smashes Into BMW Showroom After Financing Denied for M4 CS | Carscoops

      A young driver from Florida reportedly inflicted around $60,000 in damage to a BMW dealership.

      Approximately six hours ago, Michael Gauthier reported that a Florida man crashed into the showroom of a BMW dealership in Gainesville on Tuesday.

      According to reports, he became upset after failing a credit check while trying to purchase an M4 CS.

      The incident resulted in about $60,000 worth of damage, along with the man facing criminal charges.

      The tale of the Florida man continues, as a 20-year-old intended to buy a new M4 CS, a powerful coupe priced at over $125,000. However, after being denied a test drive due to a failed credit check, he reportedly reacted angrily.

      While receiving such news is never pleasant, Kevin Leiman did not take it lightly. According to WCJB, as he was leaving, he attempted to grab the car keys. Dealership staff managed to thwart his effort, prompting Leiman to return to his vehicle without the keys.

      He reportedly lingered in his car for a while, then circled the building twice before accelerating and crashing into the dealership's showroom. After exiting his vehicle, he allegedly continued his search for the M4 CS keys.

      Unable to find them, Leiman fled on foot but was eventually apprehended by the police. He was arrested for grand theft auto and criminal mischief, with authorities estimating the damage to the dealership at around $60,000. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the building sustained no structural damage.

      A user on Bimmerpost shared a photo of the aftermath, showing surprised employees amidst the shattered glass in the showroom. They noted he nearly struck the M4 CS and mentioned that the car “probably [suffered] some damage to the paint from the glass shards.”

      While this damage is relatively minor compared to the overall destruction, the user also provided the VIN number for the car, which the dealership lists for $129,175. Though it comes with a hefty price tag, it now has quite an intriguing story attached to it.
