Morgan has announced that their forthcoming flagship model will be named the Supersport.
This new model will take the place of the Plus Six and will incorporate an engine sourced from BMW.
The unveiling is set for March 11, with Richard Hammond serving as the host for the event.
After a teaser was released last month, Morgan has disclosed that the Supersport will succeed the Plus Six. The launch will be broadcasted on March 11 during a livestream hosted by Richard Hammond.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10:50 am GMT and will occur at the company’s facilities in Worcestershire. Additionally, Morgan will conduct a concurrent launch event at the Louwman Museum in the Netherlands, which houses over 275 vehicles, including a 1941 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Spider Corsa Sperimentale Balena, discovered in pieces in a bedroom in Buenos Aires.

While Morgan is keeping additional details confidential, the company has previously stated that the Supersport will be built on a new CXV bonded aluminum platform. This platform is an advancement of their earlier design and is expected to offer a stiffer chassis along with weight savings.
The powertrain will consist of a turbocharged six-cylinder engine from BMW. Currently, details about this engine are scarce, but the Plus Six featured a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder producing 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. It was paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 166 mph (267 km/h).
Regarding the design, there isn't much to share, as the latest teasers only showcase the Supersport name and the dual exhaust system. However, the rear of the vehicle appears to be more modern and streamlined compared to the Plus Six.
Despite this, the car will retain its identity as a Morgan, owing to its retro-inspired design. Nevertheless, the company is striving for a “more contemporary aesthetic and aerodynamically informed proportions.”
