Could This Be the Appearance of Jaguar's Type 00 Electric Sedan? | Carscoops

Regardless of whether the new Jaguar remains faithful to the concept, it will undoubtedly differentiate itself within the premium EV market.

Jaguar is shifting its focus upwards with its new all-electric sedan, aiming to compete with brands like Bentley and Maybach.

This striking four-door vehicle will provide ultra-fast charging capabilities and approximately 478 miles of WLTP range.

Some of the more daring design features from the Type 00 concept will be softened for the production model.

It is widely known that the bold Jaguar Type 00 concept will not be produced as a sleek two-door coupe, but rather as a luxurious four-door EV with significant aspirations. Following numerous spy images of what is arguably Jaguar’s most pivotal model in years, a set of detailed renderings have emerged, providing a preview of what the final version may look like. If these images are indicative, the world may be in for a surprise.

Typically, production models differ significantly from their concept predecessors. Nonetheless, in the case of the Type 00, the renderings by artist Nikita Chuyko from Kolesa, based on recently captured prototypes, indicate that it will closely resemble its original design and proportions. Whether this is viewed as positive or negative will vary by individual preference, but it will certainly create a vehicle that stands out in the market.

      Recognizable Face, Enhanced Features

The renderings show a front end that is nearly identical to the concept, featuring sharp split LED headlights and the absence of a typical grille. A recently spotted prototype showcased unique five-spoke wheels, but these renderings maintain the concept’s original design. While they might be a bit ostentatious, in a market where Mercedes-Maybach also offers equally lavish wheel options, Jaguar's design doesn't appear out of place.

As seen in the prototype, a prominent charging port is positioned on the driver’s side front fender. While the concept omitted wing mirrors, the production model naturally includes them, though they look somewhat conventional in the context of the car's otherwise bold styling. Additional features consist of pop-out door handles and compact side windows.

The most significant change from the concept appears at the rear. The show car’s minimalist horizontal slats that replaced conventional taillights are expected to be converted to a full-width LED light bar, aligning the design more with current EV trends.

Technical specifics are still limited at this stage, but Jaguar has indicated that it aims for a projected WLTP range of about 478 miles (770 km) along with ultra-fast charging capabilities. If they can fulfill these objectives while preserving the concept’s striking presence, the Type 00 could make a compelling statement regarding the brand’s electric future.

When Will It Be Available for Purchase?

Jaguar’s leading electric sedan, potentially named Type 0, Type 1, or even I-Type, as speculated by some, is set to begin production in the latter half of 2026, with an estimated price range between $150,000 and $200,000.
