The Blazer is currently the only internal combustion engine (ICE) model produced at GM's Ramos Arizpe facility in Mexico.

Recent reports indicate that GM may cease production of the gasoline-powered Blazer after the 2025 model year.

The starting price for the Blazer 2LT is $36,795, which is significantly lower than the base price of the Blazer EV.

It remains uncertain whether GM has plans to introduce a direct successor to the outgoing Chevrolet Blazer.

The future of the internal combustion Chevrolet Blazer appears uncertain, with suggestions it might be phased out by the end of the 2025 model year. If accurate, this would align the Blazer with the Cadillac XT5 and XT6 in an early retirement, leaving only the all-electric Blazer in the lineup.

According to sources linked to Chevrolet’s strategy, GM Authority reported that the North American Blazer production will be gradually discontinued at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. This facility currently manufactures not only the Blazer but also the Chevrolet Equinox EV, Cadillac Optiq, Chevy Blazer EV, and Honda Prologue. However, GM is preparing to convert the plant to focus exclusively on electric vehicle production.

When inquired about the Blazer's future, GM provided no confirmation or denial, instead offering a non-specific statement: “We have no portfolio changes to share and will not comment on speculation.” The report indicates that this transition will not impact the larger three-row Blazer available in China.

GM has been producing the current generation of the Blazer since 2019. It is positioned between the Chevrolet Equinox and Chevrolet Traverse within the brand's range and is built on the GM C1 platform. It comes with an entry-level 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 230 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque, as well as a naturally-aspirated 3.6-liter V6 that generates 308 hp and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm).

The starting price for the base Blazer 2LT is $36,795 for the 2.0-liter engine, rising to $40,695 for the 3LT with the 2.0-liter or $41,195 with the 3.6-liter V6. The sporty Blazer RS starts at $44,195, while the top-tier Premier version is priced from $44,195 for the 2.0-liter engine and $44,695 for the 3.6-liter option. The ICE Blazer is notably less expensive than the all-electric variant.

Indeed, the Blazer EV starts at $45,995 and can reach up to $61,995 for the premium SS model.
