Land Rover has launched a new special edition of the Range Rover SUV in Australia.
The Range Rover SV Bespoke Collins Edition takes its name from a prominent street in Melbourne.
Production is restricted to just five units, with a starting price of AU$ 507,047 (US$ 318,400).
Land Rover has unveiled yet another extremely limited special edition in Australia, showcasing custom elements and a steep price tag. The Range Rover SV Bespoke Collins Edition is available in only five examples, with a design inspired by a street in Melbourne.
Naming a limited edition SUV after a significant street in the business district of Australia’s second-largest city may seem odd initially, but Land Rover has its reasoning.
The company likens Collins Street to Melbourne's version of the Champs-Elysees of Paris, noting its mix of “modern architecture, artisanal craftsmanship, and luxury shops.” Additionally, with only five units to be produced, it translates to one bespoke SUV for every million residents in Melbourne, making it an exceptionally rare vehicle.
The Range Rover SV Bespoke Collins Edition showcases a tailored Satin Grey exterior, complemented by black badging and polished SV Bespoke side gills, aiding its integration with the busy street backdrop. The SUV is equipped with 23-inch alloy wheels in Satin Grey, so owners should be particularly careful during parallel parking in the CBD.
The interior of the Collins Edition boasts a unique touch with its Caraway and Ebony leather upholstery, complemented by black ceramic controls, moonlight chrome details, and natural black birch inserts. Moreover, the cushions, treadplates, and seat embroidery highlight the special edition's name for an added sense of exclusivity.
Beneath the hood, it houses a mild-hybrid twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that delivers 570 hp (452 kW / 578 PS) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the BMW-sourced powertrain, the Range Rover can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 4.5 seconds, despite its considerable weight.
Anyone wishing to secure one of the five units of this “city jewel” by Land Rover should be prepared to spend just over half a million Australian dollars. Specifically, the starting price of the Range Rover SV Bespoke Collins Edition is AU$ 507,047 (US$ 318,400), making it slightly less expensive than the previous Australian special, the Range Rover SV Orpheus Edition, which included a complimentary statue.
