What Will This $309K Faraday Future FF 91 Fetch Without a Reserve Price? | Carscoops
At the time of this writing, the highest bid is only $31,000 for this exceptionally rare electric sedan.
The Faraday Future FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance is an extremely unique and rare electric SUV.
The fifth unit ever produced is currently being auctioned without a reserve.
Interestingly, despite its scarcity, this vehicle has accumulated 6,000 miles, and it appears to be in good condition as shown in the pictures.
Faraday Future finds itself in a peculiar situation. The company has faced ongoing production setbacks, unusual design and strategic choices, as well as dubious sales methods, and it is now pinning its hopes on a new high-production sub-brand for salvation. Before launching what is now known as Faraday X, the company had pledged to manufacture 300 units of the FF 91. However, that number never came to fruition, yet this particular model, a 2.0 Futurist Alliance variant, was successfully produced and is now available for auction.
Originally, Faraday Future set the price for this electric car at $309,000. It remains uncertain if any units were actually sold at that price, but nonetheless, this one is now on the market and has been driven rather than sitting idle in a garage. The listing indicates it has 6,200 miles and appears nearly new overall. It serves as an excellent demonstration of what could have been achieved if Faraday Future had found sufficient buyers for this model.
The interior is filled with luxurious features, including a total of 11 screens, with one positioned for rear passengers measuring 27 inches wide. Accessing the rear seats is a notable experience as the rear doors are hinged at the back. Once inside, the seats offer a zero-gravity design that nearly fully reclines and provides calf support.
This vehicle is built on an electric platform equipped with a 142 kWh battery pack and three electric motors that collectively claim to produce 1,050 horsepower (782 kW) and 1,458 lb-ft (1974 Nm) of torque. The vehicle’s intelligence is powered by a combination of Qualcomm 8155p and Nvidia Orin X chips, managing everything from infotainment to driver assistance. It sounds impressive, but it’s important to remember the manufacturer.
This is a car from a brand that appears to be struggling. The auction listing lacks details regarding warranty coverage, servicing options, and maintenance procedures. As mentioned, Faraday Future is still operational and attempting to shift towards a sub-brand.
In theory, maintaining this car should not be an issue for the next owner. However, in practice, purchasing this vehicle at any price could carry risks. One commenter on The Autopian humorously remarked, “This is what Fisker customers buy as their unreliable project car.”
Currently, the highest bid on Bring a Trailer stands at $36,000—significantly lower than its original asking price. We look forward to seeing how this auction concludes.
