This Porsche Appears to Have Been Crafted by a Highlighter with ADHD | Carscoops
Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program has produced a GT4 RS configuration so peculiar it resembles a toy, and someone has paid over $50K extra to take it home.
This Porsche GT4 RS features a vibrant green exterior with bright blue highlights, which continue into the cabin, dashboard, and seats. Over $50K in additional options has been added to an already expensive car.
While the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS is renowned for being one of the most finely tuned sports cars ever made, not every version is configured with universally appealing aesthetics. As with all customizable vehicles, not every choice proves to be successful.
This specific GT4 RS, recently listed by Porsche Bellevue in Washington, serves as a striking example. It might be the most unusual specification we've encountered thus far.
Clearly, the original owner aimed for a standout car. The majority of the exterior is coated in a vivid green shade that appears to be Birch Green. This dramatic color is well-suited to a flamboyant model like the GT4 RS. However, the blue accents detract from its overall appearance.
The wheels, side mirrors, rear wing end plates, and the NACA ducts on the hood are all painted blue, giving this Porsche an appearance reminiscent of the blue and green RC car from Toy Story. Even the Porsche logo on the back is blue. Yet, while the exterior of this Cayman is quite wild, the interior is even more extravagant.
The seat bolsters and headrests are covered in matching blue leather, which is also present on the door panels and the lower section of the dashboard. Green painted trim is found on the dashboard, transmission tunnel, door panels, and even within the seats, accentuating the design with a near-theatrical elegance. There are also fabric seat inserts, segments of black leather, and a consistent blue contrast stitching throughout, attempting to unify the overall look.
This GT4 RS was customized through Porsche's Sonderwunsch program, also known as the Special Wishes division, allowing customers to exceed the standard configurator options.
In this instance, it resulted in over $50,000 in additional features and finishes. Whether that investment was worthwhile may depend on personal preference, but it certainly attracted attention.
At the time of writing, the listing had been removed from Porsche Bellevue’s website, indicating that the car did not remain available for long. No matter the opinions on the configuration, someone was willing to make the purchase.
