The USPS's stamp collection for 2026 features five timeless American lowriders.
The lineup includes models from a 1946 Fleetline to an '87 Cutlass.
Additional stamps recognize Ali, independence, and noteworthy historical figures.
Emails are quick, practical, affordable, and rather tedious. This sentiment is echoed by the United States Postal Service's announcement of their auto-themed stamp collection for 2026, which pays tribute to Chicano culture through a selection of classic modified American vehicles.
Next year's stamp collection immortalizes five lowriders, showcasing customized cars manufactured in the US from the 1940s to the 1980s. The cars featured include a blue 1946 Chevrolet Fleetline named Let the Good Times Roll; a blue 1958 Chevrolet Impala named Eight Figures; a red 1963 Impala named El Rey; an orange 1964 Impala called the Golden Rose; and a green 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme named Pocket Change.

While USPS has not provided specific details, a quick search reveals that all the cars are renowned within the lowrider community. Notably, the 1963 Impala ‘El Rey’ was showcased in the Petersen Museum’s Best in Low exhibition, which took place from 2024 to 2025, concluding in May this year.
An article from Motor Trend describes the '46 Fleetline as having a 4-inch (100 mm) roof chop and housing a 1968 Camaro 327 cu-in V8, whereas the '87 Cutlass features tiny Zenith wires, gold and chrome suspension, and a 350 crate motor in the front.
Three of the cars are depicted in a lowered stance, while one of the Impalas is shown nose-high, and the Olds is fully lifted, showcasing its gold interiors.
The 2026 stamp series also honors Route 66 – dubbed “The Mother Road” – through a collection of images captured by photographer David Schwartz. Each of the 16 images focuses on a different segment of the famous road that stretches through eight states from Chicago to Los Angeles.
Moreover, other historical and cultural icons and significant moments that have shaped America will also be featured in stamp form for 2026, including Bruce Lee, Muhammad Ali, Phillis Wheatley, the first author of African descent in the American Colonies to publish a book, the American bison, various figures from the American Revolution, and 250 years of American Independence.
