      The new Gladiator Shadow Ops introduces a factory winch, tactical design elements, and practical features at an unexpected price.

      Jeep has unveiled the Gladiator Shadow Ops, which is based on the Rubicon and includes a factory-installed winch. This package also comes with steel bumpers and black graphics.

      Continuing its trend of special editions, Jeep has launched the 2026 Gladiator Shadow Ops, the first midsize truck to feature a factory-installed winch.

      While specific details are limited, the Warn winch included is touted for its “unmatched recovery capability” and is likely the same winch available as a $1,995 option on the Wrangler Rubicon, boasting a capacity of 8,000 lbs (3,629 kg).

      In addition to the winch, this special edition embraces the blackout theme, featuring a satin black grille and black graphics on the hood, fenders, and tailgate, complemented by practical black steel bumpers.

      Though black dominates the design, it doesn’t conform to a typical blackout model. Rather, the Shadow Ops features body-color fender flares and a body-color three-piece hardtop, along with all-weather slush mats.

      Scheduled to launch in February, this special edition will cost an additional $4,995. However, Jeep emphasizes that this model is only $2,605 more than a similarly equipped Rubicon featuring a body-color hardtop and fender flares, which is a reasonable price given the factory winch and added features.

      The special edition will also be available in Canada early next year, although pricing details have yet to be revealed.

      Although this latest special edition may not introduce significant new features, Jeep has indicated that more are on the way. They mentioned this as “Delivery #1” and are developing additional “mission-ready special editions” that will highlight themes of strength, unity, and purpose.
