Xiaomi has introduced its Customization Service, featuring an array of 100 paint options.

Customers can choose exclusive alloy wheels and colored Brembo brake calipers.

Additionally, 24-karat gold and gold carbon fiber badges provide unique enhancements.

Xiaomi's YU7 has quickly gained popularity in China. Just a few months after its launch, this electric SUV has experienced a significant surge in sales and managed to outpace the Tesla Model Y in October. However, consumers outside of China are still awaiting Xiaomi's expansion of its EV offerings beyond the domestic market.

Last month, Xiaomi achieved impressive sales of 48,654 vehicles throughout China. Among these, 33,662 were YU7s, comfortably surpassing the SU7 sedan in sales. In comparison, Tesla delivered around 61,500 Model Ys in October, with 35,400 being exported, resulting in approximately 26,100 units sold to Chinese consumers.

Since the YU7's customer deliveries commenced in July, it is estimated that Xiaomi has shipped around 70,000 units overall. This rapid growth for a newcomer indicates that the SUV has resonated well with buyers in China.

      New Customization Options

Building on its successful SUV sales, Xiaomi unveiled its Customization Service at the Guangzhou Auto Show, showcasing a YU7 Max in Crystal Purple to celebrate the launch.

This new service mirrors Porsche's Paint to Sample program, with plans to introduce more than 100 new paint colors over the next three years, creating a sharp contrast to Tesla's limited color options aimed at increasing production efficiency and profit margins.

The complete list of available paint colors has not yet been revealed, but Xiaomi indicated that special finishes will start at 11,000 yuan ($1,500). Through the Customization Service, customers can also select from various alloy wheels and colored Brembo brake calipers.

For those seeking luxury, Xiaomi will offer 24-karat gold badges as well as black-and-white and gold carbon fiber emblems.

The single motor versions of the YU7 feature a rear-mounted unit providing 315 hp (235 kW) and 389 lb-ft (528 Nm) of torque, powered by a 96.3 kWh battery pack. Xiaomi also offers dual-motor versions with outputs of 489 hp (365 kW) and 681 hp (508 kW), respectively.

A more powerful variant of the YU7 is planned, but it is still uncertain if it will achieve the same success as the SU7 Ultra.
