The Novitec Phantom features wheels inspired by the dials of Rolex Submariners.
This vehicle belongs to Klaus Koenigsallee, intended to showcase his luxury boutique.
It's a bold, humorous, and unmissable statement of luxury.
Rolls-Royce has typically represented a brand associated with understated, serene, and timeless luxury for many. However, what occurs when a purchaser adopts that image only to later seek a bit more visibility?
For Klaus Koenigsallee, a man whose life revolves around precious gems, polished gold, and luxury watches worth six figures, the solution is clear. He has Novitec customize his car with wheels that make it look like it's rolling on perhaps the most iconic Rolex model, the Submariner.
It might seem, and indeed appear, to be an extravagant AI-generated scam, and honestly, we were doubtful until Novitec validated it.
With most wheels, this Phantom VIII Series II would glide through traffic as inconspicuously as a 1998 Honda Civic. It’s straightforward, black, and previously equipped with large SP3 dished wheels, complemented by some silver details.
Let’s be clear, this vehicle is as long as a Cadillac Escalade, ensuring it certainly commands attention wherever it travels. That said, it is bound to attract significantly more gazes and watchful eyes than before.
Timing Is Everything
Each rim is custom-crafted by Novitec atop its SP3 wheelset. The end result unmistakably references the renowned Rolex Submariner bezel, with bold hash marks, deep dive edging, and clean typography featuring the name Klaus at the center.
At the hub, an elegantly scripted message states: “Dein Lieblingsjuwelier auf der Kö,” which translates to “Your favorite jeweler on the Kö,” a nod to Düsseldorf’s upscale Königsallee shopping area.
Previously, onlookers likely speculated about the wristwatch preference of the Phantom’s occupant. Now, there's no room for doubt. Some individuals purchase black Rolls-Royces because they have nothing to prove. This, however, is different.
To Klaus’ credit, high-end watches and automobiles undoubtedly share a common market. Brands like Bugatti, McLaren, Mercedes, and Porsche have all collaborated with watchmakers and created co-branded products. This instance might very well be the first where the watch face has been showcased on the exterior of a car.
