Mercedes Reduces Prices By As Much As $50,000 Due To Surplus EV Inventory | Carscoops
The largest discount is available on the 2025 Maybach EQS 680, but several more affordable models also feature attractive offers.
Mercedes is providing discounts of up to $50,000 on select 2025 electric vehicles to help clear out inventory.
The Maybach EQS 680 is experiencing unparalleled discounts that are seldom seen on new models.
Other models such as the EQS, EQE, GLB, and G580 are also eligible for significant incentives.
If you’re considering a new Mercedes EV, now may be the perfect time to sharpen your negotiation tactics. The German carmaker is introducing an array of generous incentives across multiple plug-in models, with offers so impressive that they dwarf the recently eliminated federal EV tax credit. In particular, savings exceed $50,000.
The standout model receiving extensive discounts is the 2025 Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680, which boasts significant reductions for both purchase and lease options. While it's not a typical daily driver, as it mainly attracts the ultra-wealthy with a starting price of approximately $181,000 in the U.S., the $50,000 discount brings its price within about $20,000 of the GLS 63 AMG, making this ultra-luxury EV appear, if not obtainable, at least comparably reasonable. Additionally, the upcoming 2026 EQS 680 also qualifies for a $23,000 incentive.
Furthermore, the deals extend beyond just the Maybach models. Buyers looking at the standard 2026 Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan and SUV can take advantage of discounts of up to $10,000 when purchasing, and up to $10,500 when leasing.
According to CarsDirect, Mercedes-Benz is offering $9,500 in dealer cash for customers leasing a new GLB, or $9,000 for those who prefer purchasing. The all-electric EQE sedan and SUV are eligible for a $7,500 lease incentive and $7,000 with purchase as well.
Additionally, Mercedes is providing a $5,000 discount for anyone leasing an electric G580.
Interestingly, many of these incentives are not being widely advertised by Mercedes-Benz. Potential buyers should seek out dealerships willing to honor these unpublicized deals, which may require some research or persistence.
These incentives appear to be motivated by the brand's wish to rapidly clear out remaining 2025 inventory and possibly to maintain EV sales momentum following the removal of the federal electric vehicle tax credit about six weeks ago.
