Lexus' Latest December To Remember Advertisement Commemorates History | Carscoops
Lexus has unveiled their latest installment of the December to Remember campaign.
This commercial features timeless models such as the LS 400 and SC 400 coupe.
The brand has been running this iconic advertising campaign since 1999.
Now celebrating its 26th anniversary, Lexus' December to Remember campaign has become so familiar in American culture that the ads were humorously parodied in a well-known SNL sketch five years ago.
Although December is still a few weeks away, Lexus has jumped ahead with a captivating ad titled “Over the Years.” The ad narrates a family's story, beginning with new parents bringing their daughter home in an LS 400, which made its debut in 1989.
The narrative then jumps forward to another Christmas, where the LS is replaced by a 1990s SC 400. As time passes and the daughter matures, she returns home with her partner driving a second-generation RX.
The clip fast-forwards to the present day, showcasing them now in a 2026 GX, with a daughter of their own. This advertisement effectively intertwines Lexus’ history with its present, while also emphasizing familial connections.
Lexus has not provided extensive details about this year's commercial, but they have re-released last year's “Letter” and “Forecast” ads on YouTube.
Both ads were not particularly memorable, though the latter focused on the TX, GX, and LX, while the "Letter" showcased the NX, RX, and GX.
"Over the Years" will likely be prominently featured during football games, as is customary for December to Remember commercials.
The campaign began in 1999, and Lexus has previously stated it marks the holiday season with a “signature jingle, big red bows, and heartwarming gift-giving moments.”
