Velocity has introduced a restomod version of the Fox Body Mustang.
It boasts a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 800 rwhp.
Currently a unique model, a production version will be available soon.
Velocity has showcased what they claim to be the “world’s first production restomod Fox Body Mustang” at the SEMA Show. They describe it as a “custom creation that redefines a generation’s performance icon through exceptional engineering, design, and craftsmanship.”
Looking undeniably formidable, the 1991 Mustang LX was entirely rebuilt and is based on a Roadster Shop SPEC chassis. It features a Jet Black exterior, a two-inch cowl hood, and Carter’s Customs side splitters.
It is complemented by 18-inch billet wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, featuring a six-piston Baer braking system to maintain control.
The enhancements extend into the interior, which is “completely redesigned” yet still easily identifiable. Drivers will find themselves in front of a custom dashboard featuring Autometer and Dakota Digital gauges.
The restomod is also equipped with Recaro Expert M heated seats and a specially crafted Sparc steering wheel. Additionally, it includes an Alcantara headliner, a distinct center console, and unique door panels.
Other notable features consist of a Vintage Air climate control system and a Blaupunkt Frankfurt head unit combined with a Focal audio setup.
Power to Spare
Under the hood lies a Ford Performance 5.0-liter Coyote V8 fitted with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, allowing the car to generate 800 rwhp (597 kW / 811 PS).
The engine is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission, transferring power to the rear wheels via a carbon fiber driveshaft. The model also features a 9-inch rear end and engine bay closeout panels.
While the company describes this vehicle as a “one-of-a-kind halo vehicle,” Velocity plans to incorporate it into their Signature Series lineup in 2026. It will join the 67-68 Mustang, classic Ford trucks, and the International Scout. Prices for these start around $200,000, but the cost for the Fox Body Mustang has not yet been disclosed.
