Ford's Truckle Key Fob Belt Buckle Could Be The Most American Accessory Since The F-150 | Carscoops
Ford has introduced a limited edition belt buckle to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the F-150, aimed at helping forgetful owners keep track of their truck keys.
The Truckle is a handcrafted belt buckle that securely accommodates post-2018 Ford key fobs.
Designed by A Cut Above Buckles, it features a detailed engraving of a 1975 F-150.
Ford celebrates 50 years of the F-150 with a blend of country flair and practicality that embodies American spirit. The automaker partnered with A Cut Above Buckles, a boutique metalworking shop from Utah, to create the Truckle, a handmade belt buckle designed to hold a Ford key fob.
Created by Andy Andrews, a former rodeo rider, dedicated F-series owner, and the official buckle maker for the International Rodeo Association, the Truckle represents a unique addition to his usual offerings.
His brand, A Cut Above Buckles, has crafted custom silver and bronze buckles for years, but this project is certainly something new.
The Truckle showcases an elaborate engraving of an F-150’s front end on its cover plate, prominently featuring the Blue Oval on the truck’s license plate. Below, the number 1975 is included as a tribute to the year the F-150 nameplate was first launched.
Yet, the Truckle isn’t just decorative. The buckle is ingeniously designed to securely hold your truck key with a metal lip, allowing you to insert it before heading out for the day. There’s no need to remove it until you return home after a full day of work.
Your Ford will still recognize the fob, ensuring that key-free access and keyless start features function properly, and you can even press the buttons – as long as you haven’t had too many drinks that impair your ability to see which button to press.
While this collaboration celebrates the F-150's 50th anniversary, the buckle also accommodates fobs for the Mustang, Bronco, and any Ford vehicle equipped with the universal Blue Oval key since 2018.
Despite its $200 price (plus $34 for an optional belt), the first production run of Truckles has already sold out, but the company assures that more will be available soon, giving fans another opportunity to showcase their Ford pride.
This concept is so clever that if A Cut Above doesn’t choose to broaden their offerings to include other brands like Chevy and Ram, it’s likely that someone else will.
