      The refreshed Zeekr 001 can achieve a charge from 10-80 percent in just 7 minutes.

      It is powered by two electric motors producing 912 hp, providing all-wheel drive.

      The 001's interior has also received several updates for the 2026 model year.

      Long charging times have traditionally been viewed as a significant drawback of electric vehicles, especially when contrasted with the quick refueling of internal combustion engine vehicles. However, Chinese automaker Zeekr has introduced an updated version of the 001 shooting brake, making it potentially the fastest-charging electric vehicle available.

      When we mention that the 001 charges nearly as fast as refueling a gasoline-powered car, it may not be exact timing, but it's impressive enough.

      Rapid Charging

      With the introduction of a new 900-volt electric architecture and Zeekr's ‘Golden Brick’ battery, one variant of the 001 is able to go from 10-80 percent in a mere 7 minutes.

      This is particularly impressive given that this model features a substantial 95 kWh battery pack rather than a smaller one designed for rapid charging.

      Zeekr asserts that the enhanced 001 can support charging speeds up to 1,140 kW. In the US, only Tesla’s Megachargers, built for the Semi, can achieve such speeds, while in China, Zeekr has already begun deploying 1,300 kW stations.

      Performance to Match the Speed

      Zeekr will offer the new 001 equipped with the 95 kWh battery exclusively in all-wheel drive. This variant features dual electric motors that deliver a combined output of 912 hp, enabling a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration in an impressive 2.83 seconds.

      The 95 kWh model has a projected CLTC range of 441 miles (710 km), which is more than sufficient even by China's optimistic standards.

      There will also be a version with a 103 kWh battery using CATL’s Qilin battery technology, which increases the range to 437 miles (762 km), though it does not quite match the charging speeds of the Golden Brick battery. However, the models with the 103 kWh pack are still capable of fast charging, with the ability to go from 10-80 percent in just 10 minutes.

      Numerous additional enhancements have been made to the Zeekr 001. For instance, it features a panoramic glass roof with integrated individual LEDs that aim to replicate the Starlight headliner found in a Rolls-Royce.

      The updated model also boasts a large infotainment screen, a 39.3-inch head-up display, a 13-inch instrument cluster, and an 8-inch display located at the rear.

      Final pricing details have yet to be disclosed, but Zeekr has confirmed that customer deliveries will begin in the near future.
