This tri-motor Cybertruck failed to find a buyer, despite boasting 845 hp and only 2,200 miles on the odometer.

The bidding for this Tesla Cybertruck concluded at $76,500, even with its low mileage.

The Gulf Racing wrap, which cost $10,000, did not succeed in generating interest.

Gulf Oil liveries have previously adorned legendary vehicles like the McLaren F1 GTR and Porsche 917.

When Tesla began customer deliveries of the Cybertruck in late 2023, it seemed that everyone wanted to purchase one. This demand briefly caused a significant increase in used prices, with resellers eager to profit. However, as is often the case, these prices quickly declined and have now dropped to levels that are almost unbelievable. Take this 2024 Cybertruck, which recently failed to sell on Bring a Trailer.

The first thing to notice about this Cybertruck is the Gulf Racing livery. The blue and orange design is among the most famous in motorsport history and has adorned legendary racers like the McLaren F1 GTR, Porsche 917, and Ford GT40. While it looks fantastic on a supercar, the livery appears completely misplaced on a Cybertruck. Additionally, since Gulf is an oil company, placing its logo on an electric vehicle seems as fitting as a steakhouse sponsoring a vegan festival.

      The Depreciation King

While the aftermarket wrap is somewhat unusual, this Cybertruck is a premier tri-motor model, originally priced at $105,485. Considering it has only been driven 2,200 miles (3,540 km) and comes with a clean Montana title, it’s surprising that the highest bid only reached a mere $76,500.

That represents a staggering amount of depreciation, even by Tesla's typical standards. The highest bid fell nearly $29,000 below the original MSRP, meaning the seller lost about $13 for every mile driven. When you add in the $10,000 spent on the wrap, it totals nearly $40,000 lost in under a year.

Although the Cybertruck is polarizing, as is Tesla CEO Elon Musk, there’s no denying that the Cyberbeast is fast. With its three electric motors, it offers an impressive 845 hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.6 seconds. Clearly, not even the promise of such performance, or a motorsport-themed livery, was sufficient to persuade someone to purchase this Tesla.
