Similar to an authentic 250 Testa Rossa, this vehicle showcases a naturally-aspirated V12 engine.

This hand-crafted Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa replica features an aluminum body, V12 engine, and original Pininfarina branding. Created by Tempero in New Zealand, it closely resembles the 1959 Sebring original.

A real Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa can fetch over $30 million, making it one of the most expensive cars globally. However, if such an investment isn't feasible, a faithful replica like this serves as an appealing option. Nevertheless, replicas of this quality are still quite costly.

The specific model was produced by the lesser-known New Zealand manufacturer Tempero Coach & Motor Company, which has been constructing cars since 1946 and specializes in 1950s and 1960s replicas. Their 250 Testa Rossa tribute draws inspiration from the vehicle that won the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1959.

      Crafted from Aluminum

Tempero constructed the car's bodywork by hand using lightweight aluminum, built upon a custom tubular frame. The level of detail is remarkable, making it difficult to differentiate from an authentic Testa Rossa in photos. It features replica 16-inch wire-spoke wheels, Pininfarina branding, and painted Scuderia Shields on the front quarter panels.

Under the hood, there is a 3.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 designed to replicate the specifications of Ferrari's engine. Utilizing a GTO Engineering block, the engine is coupled with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission that delivers power to the rear axle.

The stunning replica was imported to the United States in the 1990s and has been owned by the same individual since 2006. It was listed for auction on Bring a Trailer in March, with bidding reaching $522,250 but not meeting the seller's undisclosed reserve. It has since been relisted, with current bids at $500,000.

Drive It Like You Mean It

Given the immense value of original models, they are likely to spend their lives in climate-controlled garages, rarely seen by the public. While Tempero's creation doesn't bear Ferrari's prancing horse insignia on its documents, it can still be driven and enjoyed in ways that the multi-million dollar originals seldom are.

You can view the listing on Bring a Trailer and determine whether the bragging rights are worth the cost of a very nice home.
