A GM Dealer Technician Purchased This Z06 Corvette Brand New but Seeks to Sell It After Only 2,400 Miles | Carscoops
A nearly pristine Corvette Z06 from 2024 is available on a well-known auction site.
The C8, which has only logged 2,400 miles, is being sold by a seasoned Corvette enthusiast and GM dealership technician.
Modifications on this 670 hp sports car include a lowering kit and wheel spacers.
Working at a dealership can be an excellent opportunity to experience dream cars without the associated costs of ownership. However, this GM dealer technician chose to purchase a stealthy 2024 Corvette Z06 with his own funds, which is now available for its next owner.
Before the emergence of the ZR1 and the even more extreme ZR1X, the Z06 was considered the most enthusiast-oriented C8 available. It replaced the base model’s 490 hp (497 PS) LT4 V8 with a flat-plane LT6 engine that delivers 670 hp (679 PS) and can rev up to 8,600 rpm. While the standard Corvette resembles a supercar, the Z06 offers substantive engineering to support that appearance.

This Z06 is listed on Cars & Bids, where the seller details his extensive background as a vehicle technician with 19 years of service at GM dealerships and mentions owning numerous Corvettes across all eight generations of the model. This implies he has owned more than 20 Corvettes, which may explain why he is parting with this one after just 2,400 miles (3,860 km).
Prices on the Decline
You may have heard that Z06 prices have significantly decreased this year. Initially, used models sold for over MSRP when the Z06 was released, but now they are available for less, and if the current owner doesn't sell soon, he might face a considerable loss. The window sticker indicates that the 3LZ trim Z06 was priced at $133,935, including a few options like a nose-lift kit and spider-design wheels, and bids are unlikely to reach that figure.
And in response to speculation about whether he acquired the car at a significant discount, the seller clarifies that "dealership personnel are not classified as GM employees, and furthermore, Z06s have never had any employee discounts associated with them."
Still a Great Vehicle
Although the Z06's status as the top C8 may have shifted, at $120k for a new model, it still offers excellent value, and used ones will increasingly look like an even better deal as prices drop below six figures. You can view the listing for this Z06 on Cars & Bids here.
