The woman is believed responsible for over $100,000 in damages at a Land Rover dealership, where sixteen vehicles had shattered windshields and broken windows from rocks. Security cameras reportedly captured the suspect in the act during the late-night vandalism.

Car dealerships seem to face enough challenges without dealing with unexpected late-night incidents that turn into acts of destruction. Authorities in Spokane, Washington, have taken a woman into custody, suspecting her of causing more than $100,000 in damages at a car dealership. In a surprising twist, the damage resulted not from a collision, but from the woman throwing rocks at the vehicles following an argument.

The Spokane Police Department was alerted to the situation just before midnight last Friday, after witnesses reported two individuals arguing outside the dealership. Upon arrival, officers discovered that 16 vehicles had been affected, with several having damaged windshields.

Unfortunately for the alleged vandal, Katie Sims, security footage documented the incident. The Spokesman-Review states that the 34-year-old was arrested near the dealership the next day and booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of 1st Degree Malicious Mischief, with a bond set at $10,250.

The dealership, Land Rover Spokane, had numerous vehicles parked outside during the incident. Social media posts show at least one white Range Rover Evoque with a broken windshield and a Range Rover Velar with a damaged rear side window.

Information about Sims is limited, but Spokane City Councilmember Michael Cathcart, who represents the area where the event took place, pointed to broader concerns about crime in the city. He mentioned that many recent crimes have involved individuals experiencing homelessness.

“It creates a situation where we’re either inviting more of it, or we’re conveying that there will be no consequences for such actions,” he stated. “I believe this is not the appropriate approach our city should adopt.”

This incident isn't the first to impact an auto retailer in Spokane; two years ago, thieves descended from the ceiling of a nearby dealership and managed to steal eight vehicles.
