Porsche's Cayenne EV prototypes have been spotted at the Nürburgring, showcasing a new rear wing and aerodynamic enhancements.

The automaker claims that the flagship version will offer at least 1,000 horsepower upon its release.

All models will be equipped with a 113 kWh NMC battery that supports fast charging at 400 kW.

Even though Porsche has recently scaled back some of its electric vehicle (EV) ambitions and has revised its upcoming flagship SUV above the Cayenne to include gasoline and hybrid options at launch, the current EV lineup is still progressing, with the Cayenne EV being a key highlight.

The demand for an all-electric Cayenne remains uncertain, but Porsche is actively developing this model, targeting a market launch in 2026. It will be available in both SUV and Coupe versions, and an ultra high-performance variant with the famous Turbo badge is also anticipated. Though there are no turbos in an EV, Porsche seems content to prioritize marketing over engineering.

      Winged and Widened

Several prototypes of the electric Cayenne have been photographed testing recently, but these particular ones captured at the Nürburgring exhibit some distinct modifications.

The most noticeable differences in these testers compared to earlier images are found at the rear, where Porsche’s engineers have added a fixed rear wing to the deck lid, likely enhancing downforce over the rear wheels. While not as large as that on the Taycan Turbo GT, it still adds a sportier touch to the Cayenne. The rear bumper has new aerodynamic features, while the wheel arches appear more prominently flared.

There are also distinctive elements at the front, including vents on the quarter panels and a new bumper, which is partially obscured by temporary black components.

      Big Numbers Beneath the Body

Porsche has already confirmed that the electric Cayenne will generate over 1,000 horsepower. This figure will likely be designated for the flagship model depicted here, potentially bearing the Turbo or Turbo GT badge. All variants, including this top-tier version, are expected to utilize the same 113 kWh NMC battery pack from LG, which supports charging rates of up to 400 kW.

The Cayenne EV will debut with wireless charging capabilities, and when connected to a DC fast charger, its battery can be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in just 16 minutes. Porsche aims for a minimum range of 370 miles (595 km).

Carscoops reports that horsepower will vary significantly across different models. Base versions will start at around 400 horsepower, while mid-range variants are expected to produce between 600 and 700 horsepower.
