Honda sold almost 32,000 Prologues during the first eight months of 2025.

This year, Honda and Acura have reached sales of over 992,000 vehicles in the US.

As expected, the CR-V remains Honda's top seller, surpassing the Civic.

While sales for Honda and Acura brands have increased by 4.4 percent this year, the most noteworthy aspect from the company’s latest sales report is the more than 50 percent rise in sales of Honda’s electrified vehicles in the first half, driven by the increasing popularity of the all-electric Prologue.

From an external perspective, one might perceive Honda as falling behind in electrification, as it currently offers just one battery-electric model in the United States, the Prologue, which shares its platform with the Chevy Blazer EV and other GM vehicles.

Nevertheless, it provides several excellent hybrid options for its popular models, such as the Civic, CR-V, and Accord. As demonstrated by other automakers, the demand for hybrids is on the rise, which is advantageous for Honda.

      A Year of Steady Gains

In the first eight months of the year, American Honda, encompassing Honda and Acura brands, sold 992,904 vehicles in the US, reflecting a 4.4 percent increase from the previous year. Out of Honda's lineup, 306,252 of the 903,325 vehicles sold were electrified, representing a 53.4 percent rise compared to the 199,597 electrified models sold between January and August 2023.

The popularity of the all-electric Prologue has seen even greater growth. In the first eight months of 2024, 10,394 units were sold in the US, and a year later, sales have skyrocketed by 207.7 percent to 31,982 units.

August also proved to be a strong month for the Prologue, with a total of 9,347 units sold, up 73.1 percent from 5,401 last year. However, similar to other automakers, this increase is likely influenced by buyers rushing to take advantage of the EV tax credit deadline on September 30. In contrast, Honda's overall results for August declined by 4.9 percent to 121,633 units.

      Core Models Still Lead

Despite the headlines about electrified growth, Honda's long-standing best-sellers continue to support the brand. The CR-V remains Honda's best-selling model, with 278,952 units sold this year—a 3.7 percent increase from the 268,947 sold last year. Following closely is the Civic, with sales of 168,876 units, which reflects a 2.2 percent decrease from the 172,661 sold last year.
