Rivian's New R1S Special Evokes 80s Nostalgia | Carscoops

      Rivian is commemorating Miami with a delightfully cheesy throwback.

      The company has introduced a unique R1S that honors Miami and the 1980s.

      This custom SUV boasts a white exterior adorned with blue, teal, and pink accents both inside and outside.

      The vehicle was crafted to celebrate Rivian’s new location in Mary Brickell Village.

      Rivian is marking the grand opening of their new venue in Miami’s Mary Brickell Village, which is their second site in the area and covers approximately 4,000 square feet.

      To make this store opening noteworthy, Rivian chose to reveal a specially designed R1S that “pays homage to Miami’s rich design legacy and its enduring influence on pop culture.” This model draws from the 1980s, featuring a vibrant color scheme that is fitting for the decade.

      As seen, the electric SUV has a white exterior complemented by black accents along with blue and teal side stripes. It also has pink tow hooks and a teal accent on the front bumper. Similar colorful details are present on the wheels, which feature black, pink, white, and teal highlights.

      While Rivian provided limited information about the interior, it seems to utilize Ocean Coast upholstery with pink accents on the headrests. Special floor mats are also visible, showcasing a blue and white pattern with a teal border.

      The company noted that the vehicle “embodies the essence of our brand – celebrating creativity and nostalgia in a manner that feels fresh and distinctly Rivian.”

      This one-off model is based on the R1S Tri-Motor configuration, featuring three electric motors that generate a total output of 850 hp (634 kW / 862 PS). As a result, the SUV can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in under 2.9 seconds and has a range of up to 371 miles (597 km) on a single charge.
