The bosses of the Cadillac Formula 1 Team recently put an end to ongoing speculation by announcing that Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas will be their inaugural drivers starting in 2026. Additionally, Graeme Lowdon has been named the first team principal, and the team will utilize Ferrari power units for at least its initial seasons. However, details about the livery will take a bit longer to reveal.
In a discussion with The Drive, Cadillac F1 Team CEO Dan Towriss indicated that the “complete picture” is unlikely to be unveiled until 2026.
“It’s probably going to be early February before we can show you a preview of the final design of the car,” Towriss shared. “It seems that every time we provide some information, it just leads to more questions. Everyone is anticipating that big reveal of the final product.”
The new F1 team had previously teased its fans back in May at a major event held before the Miami Grand Prix. The occasion featured a red carpet, celebrities, and a lively atmosphere reminiscent of Las Vegas, leading many to expect an early showcase of the team’s livery and colors. That, however, did not happen.
“The complete picture probably won’t come to light until February 2026,” Towriss remarked. “I couldn’t be happier with how the car development is progressing and the collaboration with GM on the Cadillac engine, which is actually ahead of schedule.”
“With the drivers now announced, I believe the team will start to come together. We are still bringing on many new team members—over the next ten days, we have 52 new hires joining Cadillac Formula 1 Team,” he added.
With the driver lineup now confirmed, the team can concentrate on staffing, training, and development, which are essential for any fledgling organization, especially with a full pre-season test just over five months away and their inaugural grand prix shortly thereafter.
