      A woman was tased and taken into custody after reportedly performing donuts and attempting to strike police officers in Fresno.

      On August 23, 2025, at 21:01, Stephen Rivers reported that a 21-year-old was arrested for doing donuts in a Ford Mustang and allegedly trying to hit two motorcycle officers. The police used a PIT maneuver and a taser to apprehend the suspect.

      Unfortunately, it is common for individuals to flee from the police, but it is much rarer for someone so young to do so while making donuts in the middle of the street at 9:15 a.m. However, according to the police, this is precisely what Rayne Barbosa did on Thursday.

      She also faced charges for allegedly attempting to strike two motorcycle officers. Her reckless driving was halted by a PIT maneuver.

      Fresno police reported that the event occurred just after 9 a.m. on Thursday when they received reports of a reckless driver in the 2900 block of Hornet, near Shields Avenue. Upon arrival, they claimed to have found the driver making donuts on the roadway in a Ford Mustang.

      Police attempted to pull her over, but she evaded them and collided with two parked vehicles. She reportedly then tried to run over two motorcycle officers, which constitutes assault with a deadly weapon; we will discuss her charges shortly. Shortly after the motorcycle incident, police intervened and employed a PIT maneuver to stop the pursuit.

      The confrontation continued, as Barbosa allegedly resisted arrest and was then tased by the officers. She was taken into custody and booked on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, reckless driving, obstructing officers, and failure to yield, according to YourCentralValley.

      Her arrest coincides with increased enforcement by police across California and the broader U.S. regarding illegal street racing, sideshows, and reckless driving. Although the emphasis is typically on nighttime activities, this case stands out due to its unusual and blatant nature. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, whereas Barbosa is now facing significant jail time.
